The only things I had a chance to upgrade was a cup into a water bottle, and a simple purifier into an advanced purifier.
It's much more efficient to use a water bottle because it can fill up to 5 TIMES MORE WATER THAN A NORMAL CUP. A water bottle can fill up your whole thirst bar. I think it's worth to make, but not necessary.
Now another upgrade I definitely recommend this time is an advanced purifier. It can purify up to 5 cups of water at a time compared to the simple purifier that can only do one cup at a time, and what's even better is that it requires no fuel and purifies the water automatically. This purifier will constantly keep your thirst bar level high. It's honestly very worth it. You don't have to waste fuel for it to purify.

- Hook, Grill, and Anchor
The upgraded hook has a longer range, so it makes it easier to grab stuff. The grill when upgraded can cook up to 3 things and can cook large things like catfish, and salmon. (The simple grill can't do that) As for the anchor, it's much more efficient because it gets annoying when you have to craft a new anchor EVERY SINGLE TIME there's an island...
