Game Journalism - Play 2

1. Today I just kept making clean water and cooked beets to keep my thirst bar and hunger bar high. Seagulls kept coming to my crop farm so I crafted a scarecrow. But before that, I needed to make a research table. And a research table allows me to create new recipes. I also made a bed so I can sleep through the night because it was kind of annoying to gather materials in the dark.

2. I learned how to reel in more items than just one at a time. (It's simple but took me a bit time to find out) I did it by waiting for the items to attach itself to the hook and pulled it all in at the same time. I also learned that I can keep the sharks away by using a wooden spear. I had to hit it 4 times in order for the sharks to back off. And I can use the building hammer and hold right click, and repair the 'bitten' foundation. I learned how to use the research table too.

3. Tomorrow I will focus on trying to get onto an island or another raft... That's my next goal because I think I can gather new things on there or maybe just get more supplies. And if I can, I will expand more so the things I've crafted like a grill, will be in the center so sharks won't be able to get to it. Today I finished making a research table but then the shark ate it. So I had to craft another one and learned my lesson to not put the things at the edge.

4.

I expanded my raft's foundations quite a bit. I also placed most of the things NOT AT THE EDGE because sharks will get to it. New things I've made today - Scarecrow, Bed, and Research Table.

Game Journalism Day 1 - Basics

This game is about collecting waste/materials in the ocean and using them to survive on a raft that's in the ocean. I have to try to survive while constantly getting thirsty, hungry, and from shark attacks that are gnawing away at the raft. In this game, there are also islands or places you can go onto.

How do you collect debris?

- You can collect it in two ways..

1. Using a plastic hook to 'reel' in items

2. Getting close to it and using 'E' to collect it by hand

1. My raft

2. Each type of debris (and what it's good for)

- Palm leaves are used to craft a lot of things as it can also craft ropes, and ropes are included in a lot
of the recipes.

- Plastic can be used to make things such as an empty cup to drink water. (It also can come in different forms as you can see in the picture above)

- Wood or planks is very important. It can be used to build essential items and are also used as fuel.

- Barrels can contain many items at once, such as food like potatoes and beets, planks, palm leaves, and even scrapes.

3. A shark eating my raft

So far, I died because of either my thirst or hunger. (And the one time when I fell off my raft and the shark killed me) When my thirst of hunger is low, my health bar slowly starts going down so I don't die instantly and have time to react. To satisfy my hunger and thirst, I made a grill to cook fish and beets, and to grow beets I made a small crop farm. For thirst, I made an empty cup and purifier to purify the saltwater.

Game Journalism - Play 1

1. The whole game I was using a plastic hook to reel in items (or picking it up using 'e') such as plastic, palm leaves, wood in order to 'craft' things to help me survive, or for when items break and I need to build new ones. I specifically built a building hammer to fix the raft when the shark eats it, and a simple purifier to purify the salt water to clench my thirst.

2. I learned that you need to gather materials in order to survive. If I don't gather enough material then it'll be hard because I'll have to be worried about thirst, hunger, sharks, and tools etc; (Since I also learned that you can die of thirst)

3. Tomorrow I'm going to focus on gathering materials for the specific basic necessities to keep me at a stable stage. Like a building hammer to fix rafts, a food resource + water resource. And also there's been a few islands I passed by so it would be nice if I could also get an anchor to go onto those islands. That's the only basic knowledge I have of the game so far.

4.

This is my raft at the beginning of the game...
